All year round biking in the sun!
TT 07

with many of the Photographs by Bob Hartmann.

This year the Ducati owners club's stand was again organised by the Cambridge branch. As ever the club had hired an enormous marqee and packed it with bikes.

The display was impressive to say the least, covering machines from a 1940's Cucciolo through to a two day old 749. No Pantah, which was a shame, although their were quite a few of their who had Pantah's that brought another bike from our collections!

Going round the tent we had the previously mentioned Cucciolo, a brace of narrow case singles, Bob Fox's Scr 450, the best GT850 I've ever seen, a Darmah, 3 900SS Bevels, a 400F3 (VERY rare indeed!) , Modern model 600, 750 and 900SS, 748, 749,851,888, 916 and 998's and a couple of Monsters including my own Monster outfit.

The usual sea of red!!

I was able to push the Taglioni rally and the club welcomed many new members, and it was great to see the huge range of owners joining the club, with some having purchased their new machines (including everything from 999's to 600Monsters) only one or two days ago and come striaght to the DOC tent first thing in the morning to join!

No less than 2 MHe's

Bevelheaven!

I got a bit horse apologising to people who came to the tent askig to buy T shirts ect and pointing to the empty table were the regalia was supposed to be, but never mind, the stand was still a great success.

Elseware in the show, Ducatiwise, their was a few stands specialising in classic Ducati stuff which went down well with many on the stand and increasingly the mainstream breakers are getting in Modern Ducati stuff at good prices.

Opposite the DOC tent was the Italian Motorcycle owners Club tent, with an interesting line up of classic Italian stuff and further down the show ground the Ducati sporting club had a tent.

We realised the Ducati Sporting club were at the Show when we joined the que for the Cavacade of clubs, for on turning up to sign in- it turned out the DSC were not down on the Marshalls list for the parade for some reason   and they had been let in as the Marshall thought they were the DOC(GB) and we were imposters. Some hasty negotiations then took place and we managed to take our rightfull place in the cavalcade!(*please read comment at bottom of page!)

In the Cavalcade!

We (the DOC(GB) entered the Cavalcade with my outfit,so Chris could wave the flag and colin on his pristine MHe- unfortunatly the Pristine only lasted as far as the first 100 yards, as the first time I hit the throttle on the outfit it went sideways and covered Colin and his MHe in porridge!!!

The Ural club in front were having fun  as the rain began to hammer down, they kept looking beind, grinning and chucking their outfits into reverse. Not to be outdone I hung back and began doing throttle on right hand turns (sideways wheelslides in other words) For which I got a telling off from the comentater, but hell, I was enjoying myself!

The weather was atrocious, but it did'nt really matter, we again had a great time at the BMF show. Why not join in next year?-

We paid the extra fiver and went into the memba rally on the Saturday night-Wow- bit of a wild bikers night out if ever I saw one. It seemed every female in the place was on their partners shoulders, getting their tits out- amoung other things. Then their was the guy who had a "personal" piercing that he used to dangle a pack of lager cans from as he climbed the tent poles....it was all rather mad!............and below- the Rain!                                               ......an.....a

Rain, what rain?

Pictures of the stand, cavalcade and DSC!
*Note from the DSC stand-"I was very disappointed to hear that the DOC were given the impression the Ducati Sporting Club had "usurped" their place in the BMF Cavalcade at Peterborough, the DSC were given 2 places in their own right by the show organisers with the yellow tickets for it being sent with all show paperwork prior to the event"
Kind regards from a fellow Ducatisti- So their you go, blame the marshalls!
